Managing Workplace Conflicts To Create Better Workplaces: A HR Playbook.
March 31, 2021 @ 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Workplace Conflicts can be expensive, both in Man-hours spent on fomenting it and on resolving it, as it can be with the cost of outcomes with those conflicts turn destructive. One of the most comprehensive studies ever done on the issue of Workplace Conflicts (Workplace Conflicts and How Businesses Can Harness It To Thrive by CPP Inc in its Global Human Capital Report), found that employees spent approximately 2.1 hours per week involved in conflict, (defined as “any workplace disagreement that disrupts the flow of work“). That translated to over $300 billion in paid hours or the equivalent of nearly 400 million workdays. So conflict can be very expensive for our organizations.
This session will review Workplace Conflicts and make suggestions on what HR can do, especially when studies show that managers are generally averse to dealing with conflict and the causes of conflict in the workplace. The speakers will lay out a framework HR can implement to help their organizations harness the power of conflict by transforming destructive behavior into productive responses.
