Entrenching Global Best Practices Through Internationally Accepted Standards.
Consistent with SHRM's role in promoting professionalism in the HR field, SHRM Nigeria has since 2014 been spearheading the establishment of professional HR standards with inputs from Nigeria. Known as the ISO/TC 260 for HR Management, we began an intensive effort to be part of the global project for the development of organizational standards under the aegis of the International Standards organization (ISO).
HR Standards increase the credibility of the practice of HR, remove artificial perceptions of international differences in HR, while empowering HR practitioners around the world to add more value to their workplaces. Working with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) and the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) we midwifed the establishment of a technical committee made up stakeholders in the HR profession.
